Highly original and characterful XK150 3.8 Coupe , finished in British Racing Green, with an enormous history folder…
The car has covered 35,000 miles, and having looked at the comprehensive history folder, we think this could be genuine …The car is a joy to drive and performs as it should…
The previous owner until 2017 only put 3,000 miles on the clock after purchasing it in 1976 , then it sat in his garage until 2015, when it was fully recommissioned…. The documented cost of this was significantly in excess of £15,000….
It still carries its Norwich registration number dating back to 1958/59 , I think it carried RG1 when it was the Botwoods demonstrator , as that was their own private plate, but was put on 1173 NG when it was sold….
In the mid 70’s it was acquired by 999 cars for use in the Hammer horror film “To the Devil a daughter” and was driven throughout the film by Richard Widmark, collecting and transporting Natasja Kinski and taking Anthony Valentine’s character to his fiery death….
Original body coloured wires, 5 recent Michelin tyres ..Full original tool kit.
It has a genuine original XK leather interior .. The interior was refinished in the correct suede green, plus a full, good quality carpet set and boot trim, to original spec….
It still has its original JS close ratio gearbox, which has the top gear ratio half way between 4th and overdrive top, which makes it a nice drive….
Standard rack and pinion steering, which makes it far more precise than a Mk 1 or Mk2, which reverted to a recirculating ball steering box….
Recent 3 piece clutch, new solid state SU fuel pump of the correct pattern….
As well as driving well, it stops properly with its recently upgraded Fosseway 4 pot calipers ..
It has the correct tacho with integral left and right indicator arrows and have also reinstated the vac screen wash set up.
It has an excellent 3.8 litre power plant, which starts well, maintains excellent oil pressure and does not overheat ,aided by a Kenlowe fan fitted in the 70’s.
Also included are a genuine handbook, workshop manual and factory parts catalogues….

The car is very presentable but has one or two age related imperfections in the paintwork..

The chromework is very good throughout ..

Underneath the car is very tidy and rust free….
