1959 Jaguar MK1 in British Racing Green …
3 owners from new … 1 of which owned the car for over 50 years …
Exceptionally original and charming example with an excellent interior with all leather and woodwork being original and in superb order , with a captivating aroma only found in cars of this era… Its even has the original working ‘valve’ radio….
The engine bay is very tidy , the engine itself has had thorough rebuild work and converted for unleaded fuel , and performs well, with excellent oil pressure ….
We drove the car 100 miles to the farm, and it didn’t miss a beat ..
As with the majority of MK1’s this car has the 2. 4L XK type providing good fuel economy along with performance well above the majority of other 1950’s saloon cars….
Matching numbers car with original engine etc….
The only upgraded part is later 5 speed overdrive manual gearbox , highly sensible and allows comfortable motorway driving .
The car comes with lots of paperwork including folder of MOT’s showing the mileage over the years , old warranty work correspondence from Jaguar plus various service bills etc etc …
Paintwork is not perfect with various imperfections but overall the car looks great & is believed to have never had a full respray with some areas of paint thought to be original.
The chrome and the car is very good throughout .. dent free without and nasty pitting or blemishing ..
I’m informed that this car has spent its life being very well looked after being kept away from wet and salty roads . Metalwork is in good condition with no signs of welded repairs underneath.
The whitewall tyres are easily removed if the new owner prefers. The tyres are very good Avons….
