Built by one of the most well known customisers in the UK VW scene, and much admired in shows and forums , it even has its own Instagram page .
The 1979 single cab pickup is heavily customised with the Rat patina paint that disguises a fully restored and modified body including the fitment of earlier front panel , bumpers and lights etc .
It’s original number plate is from when it was first registered to a UK removals firm when new and comes with the truck .
The power plant is a Subaru EJ20 Turbo unit with custom intercooler and other ancillaries making the pickup more than a match for modern driving conditions.
This vehicle is a multi-award winner including Best Custom vehicle at the Run to the Sun VW show in Newquay.
The vehicle packs some punch and has been very reliable,and comes with an enviable build spec. A lot of subtle custom work has gone into this :
